Baños is a small city in the Andean highlands under the smoke of volcano Tungurahua. Its name, which is Spanish for “Baths” comes from the famous hydrothermal springs in the area. It’s equally popular with foreigners as with Ecuadorians, and is known as the adventure capital of Ecuador. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed in this sob-tropical climate. Tourist love to come to Baños for outdoor activities like rafting, canyoning, horse back riding, canopy, mountain biking or hiking. There is a beautiful route through the most impressive waterfalls of Ecuador, ‘Ruta de las Cascadas’. At night the town is full of entertainment like restaurants and bars, all in walking distance.
