This ride takes you from a beautiful hacienda close to the Corazon volcano to high altitude cloud forest (3.100 m). The night you will spend in a local ancient hacienda and the second day you will ride back via volcanos Pasochoa and Ruminahui. This trip will give you the opportunity to visit the unique cloud forest ecosystem in the middle of the Ecuadorian Andes. We recommend, especially for less experienced riders, to book a full day at the Hacienda before the trip so you can get used to the horse and ride around the Hacienda, it is also a good opportunity to get used to the high altitude.
Day 1: Pick up from your hotel in Quito and drive to the Hacienda south of Quito. The staff will of the Hacienda will help you to choose a horse and to tack it up. You will stay at an ancient hacienda where you can enjoy homemade meals, and take a tour with the owner who is a passionate biologist that takes care of his own orchids.
